An update from the Sunshine Coast!

Hello to you all back home!

Apologies for not updating you all sooner – things have been pretty busy for us all and wifi is not always available!

We had a fantastic time in Singapore; we were treated to an amazing ‘bum-boat’ ride around the harbour on the first evening, before sampling a traditional Singapore indoor market on the next day.

Our first set of matches went well, albeit were incredibly hot!! The Football Team won 7-0, with Tom D scoring a hat-rick! The Netball Team came up against very stiff competition at the Sports Academy and unfortunately lost. However, they loved the experience and thankfully they played indoors! The Hockey Team played the Singapore Hockey Academy in extremely hot conditions! The girls battled hard but unfortunately lost 4-0.

Our flight across to Brisbane was smooth and we had an amazing morning yesterday surfing on the Sunshine Coast! Much fun was had by all, but particular praise must go to Flo Jenkins, Meg Hemsworth and Isobel Haig who really shone!

In the afternoon we played our second set of matches; the Football Team continued their winning streak by winning 5-0, with Matt Barker scoring two goals and gaining Man of the Match from the opposition. The Netball team played incredibly well, playing some outstanding netball in the first and final quarter, but unfortunately lost 23-9. The Hockey Team also put in a sterling performance, with Katie Moss achieving Player of the Match, as chosen by the opposition, but unfortunately lost 7-0.

Everyone has now ventured off to their billets for the weekend, with many of them enjoying the Sunshine Coast today! All are having a great time and enjoying spending time with their families. Tomorrow we are off whale watching, so fingers and toes crossed we see some humpbacks and dolphins in the sunshine!

We hope everyone is well at home and that the sun is still shining for you all!

Next stop Auckland, New Zealand!
